Music Department
Under the leadership of Minister of Music Rex Stafford since 1998 this ministry is blessed with many wonderful singers and instrumentalist. Opportunities for service include the adult choir, youth choir, orchestra, worship teams and other ensembles or as a soloist. Choir rehearses on Sundays and occasional Wednesday nights in preparations for seasonal events. We minister every Sunday morning in the second service and on Sunday nights. Almost anyone with a desire to sing and a commitment to faithful attendance is eligible to join.
Worship Teams assist the leaders in bringing the congregations into God's presence with joyful praise and heartfelt worship. Members are selected by the Minister of Music.
Soloists and other special music presentations are scheduled every Sunday night. These are arranged to provide variety and balance of opportunities.
Orchestra reahearsal is on Sunday evening prior to the service and twice monthly on Wednesday nights. Directed by Larry Edgmon, the group plays offertories, service openers, choir accompaniments and music for congregational praise & worship. Participation requires an adequate level of musical skill and the approval of the director and Minister of Music.
The Music Ministry presents an annual Christmas concert which includes the drama team in a mix of humorous and inspirational music. There is also a dramatic musical production each Easter as well as a God & Country presentation in July.
